their bodies, and can reach over 3.5 metres in length. They are found worldwide in warm, shallow waters and have a reputation for aggression. However, most attacks on humans occur because bull sharks naturally inhabit the coastal areas most frequently visited by bathers and surfers.

Primarily, they feed on bony fish. Bull sharks are best known for their ability to tolerate both fresh and saltwater environments, a unique trait enabled by special adaptations of the rectal gland, kidneys, liver and gills. There is even a population of bull sharks living in freshwater Lake Nicaragua.
