Who Qualifies for this Course
Taking photos underwater is a rewarding way of making sure your diving memories last forever. To qualify for this course, all you need is an Open Water Diver certification or a similar certification from another training organisation. This is by far one of the most rewarding add-on courses you can do and can be added to your advanced open water at a later date.
Amateurs and Professionals Welcome
Whether you’re an amateur with little or no experience, or a budding professional photographer, this course is designed to teach all students the basic theories behind underwater photography. Open water dives give you the opportunity to put those theories to the test, and create stunning underwater images of your own.
What Will I Learn?
The training process takes place on two open water dives, under the supervision of an experienced PADI Professional.
On this course, you’ll learn:
- Choosing the right underwater camera system for you
- The PADI SEA (Shoot, Examine, Adjust) method for getting great shots quickly
- Principles for good composition of underwater images
- Practical techniques for taking great photos with your digital camera
Advanced Open Water Credit!
The second dive of this PADI Specialty Diver course may credit as an Adventure Dive toward your Advanced Open Water Diver certification. Ask your instructor about earning credit.
What Scuba Gear Will I Use?
You’ll have access to our in-house dive equipment, including mask and snorkel, fins, regulators, a buoyancy control device and a dive cylinder. You will need to have your own camera equipment.
